Kurayoshi City
Geographically located as the doorway to the Central Tottori area, Kurayoshi is the main city of the region. During the Muromachi era the construction of Utsubuki castle started the development of the area. Surviving that time, located in the heart of the old district of Kurayoshi, is the Shirakabe Dozogun area, which lies along the Tamagawa River. Now situated mainly in the Akagawara area are many folk crafts, retro themed sites, and various other popular tourist attractions. Also, during the cherry blossom season, Utsubuki Park comes alive. For a treasure trove of traditional Japanese beauty, look no further than Kurayoshi.

Misasa Town

Misasa Town
With an 800 year history, the hot spring town Misasa has come a long way. Said to have been discovered by a monk named Myoken Hosatu aided by a white wolf, the spring water boasts the highest radon content in the world. This radon content, which can also be inhaled, is said to have numerous health effects. A short distance from the Hot spring area is Mt. Mitoku which contains the national treasure “Nageiredo Tempe”, along with various other important cultural properties. Culture, nature, and hot springs make the forests and valleys of Misasa a top travel destination. Bath your body in the springs, and cleanse your mind on Mt. Mitoku. Welcome to the Misasa’s healing hot springs.

Yurihama Town

Yurihama Town
Situated around Lake Togo lies the town Yurihama. The name Yurihama alone summons the images of the prized Nijjiseiki pears, hot springs, and the white beaches along the coast. Togo Onsen, along with Hawai Onsen make up the hot spring district of the area. We recommend renting a bicycle (free of cost) and riding around the beautiful lakeside local. To the north lies the beautiful blue Sea of Japan, with many small fishing ports. South of the area are many farms growing the famous Tottori Nijjiseiki pear.

Hokuei Town

Hokuei Town
The former towns of Daiei and Hojo merged on October 1st, 2005、and became Hokuei. Also the hometown of the author of the popular manga Detective Conan, Gosho Aoyama, the Conan Road is a unique attraction. Along the streets are various character statues、all kinds of anime and manga related things. Also, running 12km east and west, and 1.2km north and south are the sand dunes, which are used to grow nationally renowned watermelons、sand dune potatoes, shallots, grapes, tomatoes, etc. and various other specialties. The area also boasts the highest number of tombs and ruins in the prefecture.

Kotoura Town

Kotoura Town
Thought of as the land of Emperor Godaigo, Mt. Senjo, as well as many other places in Kotoura have their names etched in history. Voted as one of Japan’s best waterfalls, Daisen falls, and the thousand year old tree, Kyoboku (big tree) are just some of the reasons that Kotoura is thought of as a place where one can experience enchanting natural beauty. If one faces north there lies the great blue Japan Sea. Its coasts boast the most fishing ports of the Sanin region, making the Akasaki area deluxe spot for those wanting to buy or eat fresh seafood. Truthfully, the blessing of the sea, and the mountains make Kotoura attractive on a grand scale.

Hiruzen(Maniwa city)

2012-01-25 18:45:43
Nationally known for being THE resort spot in western Japan. Famous for its Jersey Milk, and inside of its large rural area are many great places for outdoor fun. A restaurant with grazing cattle in the background, famous cheese fondue、Jersey ice-cream, and the like are highly recommended. Horse-riding, and other such workshops, parks, and leisure filled strolls in the park are common place. For travel-wear individuals, a dip in the Hiruzen Kaiyukan hot spring will refresh the spirit.
